detected HDD & CD should be detected before system POST,
Power
On
Self

assuming your CD is IDE, an IDE channel (a motherboard usually has 2 IDE channels & each channel can have only 2 devices connected too it
- 1 is the master
- 1 is the slave
master / slave is only to identify the device
to set the device as master or slave you move the jumper at the back of the device & set it to master, slave or
C/
SEL (cable select)
all cable select is: it's a way to identify devices, the master is connected furthest from the motherboard & the slave device is connected to the centre IDE connector
all this info is useless if you are using a SATA CD, but i've assumed it's IDE, am i correct ?
