My Computer

Default 2.1 Speakers

OK, recommendation time..........

I'm looking for a cheap (sub £50) set of 2.1 speakers to replace the tinny crap i've got now. I'm not that bothered about ear bleeding volume but reasonable bass and decent sound quality is more important. I also dont want them to look like a set of space cadet accessories (ie plain looks please )

Thanks

I bought the creative labs (cambridge soundworks) 2.1 set a few years back and have been really pleased with them. You will probably be able to get 5.1 for £50 but I personally think its a bit much for a computer!!
The model Ive got is sw320 which they dont make any more but the latest replacements are about £20 I think.
cambridge soundworks - Froogle
creative labs 2.1 - Froogle

Plenty of bass (its adjustable on the woofer) and definatly loud enough.
Ive got a denon separtes hi-fi with some Tannoy M2 speakers which is barely better, if at all! I use a audigy2.

Cant seem to find Cambridge soundworks on Ebuyer, Oc's or Savastore. Not for my price range anyway. I think that range has been replaced by the Itrigue series.

I didnt realise how expensive some of the cambridge soundworks stuff is!
You can still get creative labs cambridge soundworks speakers from ebay. My satellites go for £1.50!
There are full systems though. I know this is 4.1 but its also £25. I think they were about £80 when they came out.
eBay.co.uk: CAMBRIDGE SOUNDWORKS SURROUND SOUND SYSTEM FPS 1000 (item 300009379695 end time 30-Jul-06 06:10:20 BST)
Its had some really good reviews too.
