I personally would go for the 9800GX2 becuase in the UK its only £120 difference between a 8800GTX and 9800GX2 so one would go for the better card which is the 9800GX2 defo
![]() BTW for the 9800GX2 you need both 6 and 8 pin PCI-Express connector and preferable have a true 8pin rather then a 6+2 pin and minimum 700watt PSU

yeah i think i have the 8 pin on my power supply, and im using a 6pin right now for my 8800GTX. so what would the difference in performance be between 2 8800GTX's in sli and a single 9800GX2 be? do you have any idea?

![]() The fastest overclocked 9800GX2 (on air) i found for sale runs at: - GeForce 9800 GX2 core running at 675MHz - Shader Clock Speed of 1674MHz - 1024MB GDDR3 Memory running at 2100MHz - 512-Bit Memory Interface - 256 Stream Processors - Shader Model 4.0 - Memory Bandwidth: 134.4GB/s As you can see it's much faster then 8800GTX and according to Nvidia a 9800GX2 is up to 50% faster then a 8800 Ultra.

Both 9800 GTX and 9800 GX2 is nothing more just a disaster.

You said "according to Nvidia"
![]() Well, I personally have 8800 GTx. So I can compare with 9800 GTX results. 9800 GTX = +10% ? Is it worth buying it? I think no. NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX Round-Up: BFG, EVGA, Zogis - HotHardware World In Conflict - Tom's Hardware : Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX Review The new standard of fast: XFX 9800 GTX - Page 10 - World In Conflict with AA bit-tech.net | Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX 512MB Tell me, why should I go for 9800 GTX if it's equal to the 8800 Ultra? It's sometimes equal even to the 8800 GTX. And these benchmarks... allmost all the same results. I dont think they are fake. I did expect much more from Nvidia's 9xxx series. Such a disappointment
