Ok continuing to mess with a planned x-mass build.
have pretty much decided on an Asus P5Q P45, HD 4850, (quad 6600, vs duo 8400 still undedided), but am trying to shave the price and stay upgradable in the future in case I do have some cash. when playing games, new ones, will I actually notice any difference between having 2gb 1066 or 4gb 800 memory? I think I would prefer the 2gb 1066 so I can put some extra 1066 in later, rather than hving to remove £45 worth of 800 to put in 4bg 1066 later. what do people think. |

So if you going to get 2gb 1066 memory then later add some more then i recommend you go for this option.

Thanks as always pimp,
Yea I will be waiting until just before x-mass before buying and will react to any price drops, don't really want to wait until after but I will see how its going, as you said in the other thread, the uptake on the new processor could be slow initially and could take some time to affect graphics prices, but here's hoping otherwise. I could well be after more memory within the year so might go for the 1066 straight off, I might decide to splurge and get 4gb 1066 initailly but hard to justify that bit of extra dosh on an already stretched budget. Also I am working with a 19" ACER monitor so until I get that upgarded quality will suffer anyhow. |
