its not all new i kept my old hard drives, dvd drives, case and psu (Seasonic 400 watt super tornado ) that were 12 months so i guess i saved a few pennies, and sold the old stuff to a friend, but i recently changed the case from an Antec super lanboy to a P160, it all runs smooth i haven't had any probs since i built it. that and having a good paying job helps as well

Its a nice score, but i have to say for an FX55 / Corsair 2GB (i presume 2-2-2-5) & an Ultra 6800 i would expect more at stock levels: perhaps 28, 29K.

Yea I thought that, usually a 25k mark score would probably be from an A64 3400-3500 with that card.

well i know someone who has a similar setup (different mobo mainly) and gets similar results in benchmarks in fact i beat him in some.Drivers can make a lot of difference, i just use standard mobo drivers and Gainwards graphics drivers, just check regularly for updates. i cant be bothered overclocking as it runs cames like HL2, Far Cry etc no problem over 100 fps, Doom3 when i had it i had to run it at 1580x1200 res and 16xAA before the framerate dropped

Actually cool and quiet doesn't kill your performance, it provides the CPU power that is needed for the applications your running in real-time.

well with cool and quiet on i only scored around 45000 in aquamark3,it seemed to lock the multiplier at 6x so i was effectively running a 1.2ghz fx 55, still ran games ok tho but that maybe more due to the graphics card. cant remember any of the 3dmark scores were

Strange, i've personally never had any problems with it - although i do not run it anyway as my pc is quiet and cool at full load.
But then the only time i've ever run it was with the latest version applied.

oh my god, is 12,000 a good score for a radeon 9600, thats when i fully overclock it, is there anyway to increase that score.
also what scores would i be likely to get with a 6600gt card and a x800pro card? frog, what did you get a score or 38,977 with, what card? Last edited by Willz; 30-06-2005 at 01:20 PM. |
