Default 5.1 setup problem

Ok guys i just recently formated my system and got a new sound card. but my problem is i have the logitech Z640 speakers. but i cant get all the speakers to work i downloaded the most recent drivers fro my sound card and tryed pluging the cables in every way posible but nothing works only get the middle speaker sub and 2 front cant get the back to work for the life of me. any help would be nice thanks

this is because the sound card doesn't know what speaker system you're using, on the sound card installation CD will be something that lets you select 2.1, 5.1 or 7.1 speaker system
any probs, just attach CD directory listing (DIR d: /s >c:/cddir.txt) then attach cddir.txt

Adding to that, this problem occurs with some audio formats as well eg MP3. Use OEM CD/DVD and see if you get the sound or not.
