Default 915G Motherboard w/Celeron D ?

Hi,

I bought a D915GSN barebones kit (was an old Gateway 7200X which had everything removed) with just the case and the motherboard, and heatsink/fans. Its a BTX motherboard with a huge heatsink and fan. Originally the motherboard came with a Pentium4 LGA775socket chip, and the specs say that it supports the Pentium4, but no mention of a Celeron is made (see first link below).
I have a Celeron D 326 LGA775 chip which I put in, and used the heatsink and fan which came with the BTX case (ATX heatsinks dont fit on a BTX motherboard). However, when I turn the machine on (with 512ram and the Celeron D) a red light blinks twice on the motherboard with two faint click sounds. The fans also blow at full bore.

Could this be a blown motherboard, a blown CPU, bad RAM, or could the Celeron be incompatible with the motherboard? Also, Intel seems to have no documentation on this specific board, where could I find it?

here is all the documentation I could find on the motherboard:

Thanks

You might have to contact Gateway to decipher the red light blinks!

I'd see and find out if there's any jumper settings you need to adjust. Typically, Celeron's don't always run the same speed FSB as the Pentium's. While motherboards are typically jumper free these days, I don't know if that's the same for the pre-built boxes. I would certainly look into that too, as Celeron's tend to use cores that are derivatives of their Pentium counterparts.

I cannot get any more information about the motherboard from Gateway as I did not purchase the computer from them. They cant help me if I only have the barebones kit. There is minimal documentation on their website so it seems I am outta luck. Perhaps something is not plugged in right. I will double check everything tonight and try playing with any jumpers I see.
Thanks for the help so far!
