The 9600XT Ultra has faster RAM speed 680MHz (340MHz x2), but uses the standard 500MHz core clock. The 'regular' 9600XT has a 500MHz core and 300MHz DDR speed.

I wouldn't buy a 9600, since they are only crippled 9800s. Four pixel-pipes isn't too respectible in this day & age. :o

I saw a 9800SE at newegg by power color. It says 128mb ddr 256-bit what? And on the box it says 256 bit! I thought all SE's were 64bit!

No you see, if you get a 9800SE with DDR2 you can softmod it with omegacorner drivers to a 9800Pro, and it unlocks the extra 4 pipelines, so its just a slightly slower 9800Pro.
And yes i got a Vivo X800Pro and modded it to a X800XT (which was suprisngly easy), problem was i then decided to overclock it so i had a X800XT OC'd, which it didn't like after a while. Then i got a 6800 and that just didnt want to work at all.. so i got a refund, sold my old machine and brought my AMD64 , just got a terrible graphics card in it, but its worth it.And considering you have 9600SE i wouldn't have gone for the 9600XT Ultra, the 9600XT will probably struggle with newer games, i know when i had my old one it certainly did, and that was on a AMD Barton 2500+ @2.2Ghz 1GB Corsair XMS (on higher graphics anyway) You would be better off getting the 9700Pro.. for the money its probably less than a 9600XT i believe and its got 8 Pipelines, 128bit memory, its a fantastic card.

I would suggest sending it back within 7 days under the distance selling act thing. When you send it back during the cooling off period i don't think you have to supply a reason.
