Acer Model 5100. Re-Insulation Query

Hi everyone, can anyone help. Tried to Re-install Windows for the above model an it would just not pick up cd i.e ......"press any key to boot from cd".I have checked the Bios as advised by Acer to make sure first bootdevice is on CD which it is.

I have been told to reinstall windws on this type of model there are certain keys that need to be pressed before hand, or something like that.!!! i'm confused. I also did press a key to start the boot but a black screen came?

anyone tell me otherwise. Thank you

Is it the Acer Aspire 5100 (laptop) or the Acer Veriton 5100 (desktop - old!)? If it's the laptop, it should have come with a recovery CD (or in my case I had to create one when I first got it).

If not let me know!
