Default Advice choosin LG LCD W2284F or M228WA need opinions please enter

gidday everyone,

im planning on buying a new lcd moniter, mainly for gaming but also multi purpose, my computer also has a tv tuner and i alsp use it to connect my console but as i said i use it mainly for pc gaming i have a 8800gt if it makes a difference between the two screens.

here is a compare list between the two, although its comparing
between a 22" and a 19" im planning to get only a 22 i just could find the model in the list.
i understand that the lower the ms is the better abd higher the Contrast Ratio is the better.

LG Wide LCD Monitor Model Compare - LG Global Site

the M228WA is able to connect the tv and console straight to the monitor, but then my tv tuner can aswell although the quality isnt as good and the W2284F has better ms and contrast ratio which is better for gaming therefor i dont know what to choose.

ill be thankfull to get your advice, thanks in advance.

I wouldn't choose either of them my friend, personally i would choose a Samsung but out these two:

Samsung SM-T200 20

Samsung SM-2053BW Aqua 20

But if you have a really high budget then the best monitor to get on the market in terms of performance and quality in gaming then it's the:

Acer G24 Widescreen Gaming LCD Monitor

- Viewable Area: 24” Widescreen (1920x1200 Resolution)
- Interface: Analog / DVI / HDMI (HDCP Compatible)
- Response Time: 2ms
- 16.7M Colours
- Contrast Ratio: 50,000:1
- Viewing Angle (H/V): 160°/ 160° (TN Panel + Crystalbrite)
- Brightness: 400cd/m2
- Vesa Compatible (100x100)

How are they???

The LG 19 inch model you chose is not better than any of the Samsung ones and the 22inch LG has the same specs as the Samsung but certainly not better then the Acer.

LCD is LG's display technology of choice, and they are putting all their chips into the technology right now. Those however are earlier models, look for anything with the Flatron moniker from LG, for reference these and these are all golden. As far as Samsung goes, i have pretty much lost all respect for them. They started outsourcing some of their panels, and their quality has been lacking. I would not consider any Samsung model below a 24'' period. Even then i would be leery. Samsung are the people who created "dynamic contrast" which is just a fancy way of saying they found a different way to measure contrast ratios, but didn't actually improve anything. The same can be said for their new models, and most people copy them. (minus Nec, Dell, LG, and some others) (but some dell models do also) Anyways, its horrible, and misleading, you can't trust anything any of the manufacturers give out for specs, because they are most likely not accurate.
