Welcome friends i want ur help:
yesterday i bought a new computer :

1) AMD athlon X2 5200+ AM2 dual core processor/2000mhz/1x2 L2 cache
2) MB Gigabyte M55SLI S4
3) APOGEE RAM DDR2 880 (512x2) Dual channel
4) Chaintech Apogee geforce 7300GT 256 DDR3 PCIe
5) HDD Seagate SATA2 160GB 7200
6) Monitor Samsung 19" widescreen 940BW/DVI

i have some questions:
a) i instaled the processor on the board and put the RAM as dual channels, when the system start the board doesnt count the RAM and doesnt giving any informations about the processor and i see 2 messeges the first is [MEMORY 800 DUAL CHANNELS 128 BITS] the second is [CPU frequency 200 MHZ], I ask is it meenning that the proceesor not running at 2000mhz FSB and run at 200nhz only? and why the board doesnt count ram? so what can i do?

b) the monitor contrast 1:500 and brightness 1:300, when i try to adjust the contrast and brightness from the monitor buttoms i found that contrst and brightness are only uo to 100. so what can i do?

c) how can i run my HDD as SAT2? by only remove the jumper? or i must change board option?

d) which type of windows is best to my CPU?

e) how can i optimiz mu PCIe card for best performance?

Ok, 200Mhz is right, It seems to be 200Mhz x the Multiplyer of the CPU, so for example, my CPU is overclocked to 2.8Ghz, the FSB Clock is at 254Mhz, the Multiplyer of my CPU is 11X, so 11 X 254 = 2794Mhz, which is near enough 2.8Ghz.

Also the HT FSB (Hyper Transport) runs at 2000Mhz (2Ghz), this is the FSB clock (200Mhz) x the FSB Multiplyer which is 5x an then x2, so 200 x 5 x 2 = 2000Mhz. which is what the FSB runs at

B:, yea its only supposed to go to 100, when at 100, its 100%, so its at maximum.

C: Does your HDD use wide thin cables? if so, its an IDE HDD and to use SATA 2 you need a SATA 2 HDD.

D: Allthought mostly all AMD CPU's are 64bit, 32bit X86 is the best to use because 64bit OS's dont have as much support yet as 32Bit, you thinking of upgrading to Windows Vista? get 32Bit.

E: You card will be running proberbly best it cant, allthough there should be some optimizing options in the Nvidia drivers so make sure you have the latest Nvidia Graphics Drivers, but if your wanting to play games you might want to upgrade your graphics card, it aint really up to gaming.

2) my HDD is already SATA2 300m/s but how can i run it as SATA2?

3) do you meen that my PCIe card is bad and i cant play games smoothly with it? but i read in CHAINTECH website that it has a good specifications

Its a 7300 lol, its not exatly what I would called a gamers card.

Your HDD is allready running as SATA2 then.

If your FSB is at 200Mhz, it means that your CPU Multiplyer is x10, 200 x 10 = 2000Mhz, so your core is running as 2.0Ghz

So yea, 200Mhz (This is the number of the FSB) x the Multiplyer of the CPU, which in your case is 10

And AMD Athlon X2 5200+ runs at 2.6Ghz though, so I am guessing FSB is 260, but thats if your Multiplyer actually is 10.

For the "FSB" at 2000MHz, that's actually the HyperTransport Bus that's in lieu of the FSB. It's linked to the memory speed (200MHz, PC3200, DDR400 speeds), and then multiplied. For Socket 754 chips, it's a 4x multiplier; Socket 939 and AM2 use a 5x. This results in an 800MHz or 1000MHz HTT, respectively. HTT also operates at DDR terms, meaning that the net effect is 1600MHz or 2000MHz.
