My Computer

Default AOPEN Drives..

..ok seeing as my AOPEN DVD/CD Writer Drive, is well, fooked up at playing CD's, and updating drivers etc didn't help, I'm gonna have to get me a new CD ROM.

I found an AOPEN something or other for £15.

Are AOPEN actually worth that much? Seeing as a 50 quid drive can't do it's job properly, I'm debating whether to get something a little better.

Thanks.

AOpen tends to usually have pretty good stuff, but they aren't always as flashy as some and get ignored. From what I can tell, AOpen rebadges their optical drives as I've seen the same design on other lesser brands like Optorite.

Actually, if you want my opinion, I've really had good luck with Samsung drives. I've got one CD-ROM drive that's 4 years old and not missed a beat.

My Computer

I have an aopen drive and it works perfectly.

Older versions of Nero won't recognize the drive but Nero 6 does with no problem.

I have a 3 year old samsung also and it still works very good .
