Default Bluetooth headset problems with Mac OS X 10.5

I got a Jabra BT2020 bluetooth headset. It works perfectly with my iPhone, PS3 and some other cell phones. But when I use it on my Mac Pro (OS X 10.5.4), I can hear everything but when I speak through it, I only hear static (like if there's a wasp in the line). I even tried to lower the input volume in the audio control panel, without result. The graph that displays the current input level, is always completely filled.

I also tried to remove the headset from the bluetooth list, and then adding it again. But that's not solving it.

When I try it with Vista (using Bootcamp), then the headset isn't even recognised (so there I don't even have output through the headset).

This problem is happening with both of my headsets (Acer VoIP phone is the 2nd one), and also on my Mac Mini. So it might be an issue with the OS.

The LED is flashing shortly after 2 seconds, and according to the manual this means that it has been successfully paired.

ok, lets start again, turn off the headset for atleast 10 seconds then power on to automatically enter pairing mode and set the other device to search, when found enter 0000 <default> and pairing should be complete according to manual & me

I tried that several times, and it doesn't solve it unfortunately.

presumably you've been through all the trouble shooting section and tried all sorts of crap to get it working, maybe you should contact the manufacturer, but, they will probably say "if it works with other phones, it works"

are you sure it will work on a Mac with of without drivers ?

and have you installed the Bluetooth stuff on the Mac, as linux requires them ?

I followed all troubleshooting instructions. And the Mac has built-in bluetooth headset support. I know that because it shows the headset in the audio preference screen, and outputs audio perfectly. This looks like the case of the Mac is causing interference with the signal.
