The 128-bit on the video card refers to the memory bit width. This does, in no way affect the specific interface the card uses.

If you have a PCI card, you must put it in a PCI slot. If you have a PCI Express (PCIe) card, it must go in a PCIe slot. If it's an AGP card, you must put it in an AGP slot.

There's no practical way of replacing a bus on a computer, and even if you could, the time and resources devoted to doing so would be more than replacing the motherboard.

What exact motherboard do you have, and what exact video card do you have?

The 8500's are PCIe (PCI Express) and are incompatible with PCI, which include both 64-bit and 32-bit variations.

Also, this sticky about PCI-X, PCIe, PCI, and AGP might help.

wow! Ive come across some questions on here!

Youd need a million dollars worth of equipment and be able to design your own motherboard to change the pci bus to 128bit. I doubt the pros could even do it
