Default can a sata2 drive work with ide with an adaptor

hello
i had an adaptor from which u can connect ur ide drives, hard drive, cd rom etc to a sata card but i was wondering if u can do the opposite and connect a sata drive to and ide interface with the adaptor fitted into the motherboard ide. it will fit but would it actually work

It'll work, but the general consensus hasn't been positive. The main issues that have come up are slow-downs and data corruption. Some people haven't had issues with them, but from what I've read, it's less than ideal to use the adapters.

so its betta nd well worth spending bout 20-25 pounds on a sata card.
