Default Can Windows XP UI Be Reset

Hello, I've seem to messed my Windows XP UI just a little bit. When I maximize the Window it covers the tool bar. Before it never did this, I installed a program that added a new Interface to the current OS and now It's back to normal after I uninstalled. If I where to make a window a lot bigger by hitting the maximize button the whole screen will get filled and the XP task bar would just disappear. Hopefully someone has a solution. Thanks for the readings.
