My Computer

Default Case modified to fit agp 16mb...motherboard WILL NOT recognise!

I modified my compaq deskpro EN p550 case to fit regular form graphics cards...the system manual says it is NON-upgradable, it seems that this is 100% true. I tryed a 64mb AGP card...good drivers (worked on 333mhz pentium 2 cpu) and i would get the command to restart my computer...it says "windows is now is now restarting" and then it goes to a command prompt and never loads windows...when you manually turn the computer on and off you get an error message when windows loads "the device driver you have installed does not support your hardware" And thats bull it worked on a different motherboard with a less capable CPU and RAM why won't it work on my compaq?! So i saidto myself "maybe the mobo is limited to certain cards...i went installed a 16mb AGP nvidia tnt2 pro card and still no dice...from 4mb to 16 and the system can't support it?!..i'm sorry but to me thats ********, with a mobo that won't support a 16mb card this PC is worthless to me, thank god i got that new mobo with the 1.2ghz cpu if it won't support a 64mb PCI card then i'm gonna be REALLY pissed.

if youve just modified the case i dotn see what you coclu have doen that would affect the actual hardware of the computer.

Was it just the shape of the case you changed? or have i got the wrong end of the stick!

My Computer

it was a driver issue (compaq has a supported driver pack for the tnt2 card no other drivers would work)
