My Computer

Try this:

If the icon of the DVD drive has an exclamation mark in device manager, then select it and press Delete. Confirm the device removal. Now reboot the PC.

What did you do? Im having a similar problem with my dads dell pc. Ive tried removing the device driver and re-booting yet it still comes up with the device driver has failed to install.

There do not appear to be any drivers I can use on tinternet just firmware flashers. Of course I cant use this as there is no drive installed!!!

Specs

Intel Core duo e6550
Foxconn motherboard (Dell Generic type)

Realtec HD Audio (Motherboard)
Nvidia 8600GT
