Default CPU cores on HP DX2300

    Hi all.

I bought a HP DX2300 with a DualCore Intel Pentium E2140. Recently I ran VMWare Workstation with a VM prepared for 2 CPUs, and the VM refused to start, stating that the PC only had 1 CPU. I usually run this VM on a Dell Vostro with a DualCore Intel Pentium E2160 and never had this problem.

Then I ran Everest WS on both PCs, and the report was the following: (extracts only here! Full reports attached in MHT format.)

    In DELL:

    Section CPU:
    ------------
    CPU Properties:
    CPU Type: DualCore Intel Pentium E2160, 1800 MHz (9 x 200)

    Multi CPU:
    CPU #1: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2160 @ 1.80GHz, 1795 MHz
    CPU #2: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2160 @ 1.80GHz, 1795 MHz

    CPU Utilization:
    CPU #1 / Core #1 0 %
    CPU #1 / Core #2 0 %

    In HP DX2300:

    Section CPU:
    ------------
    CPU Properties:
    CPU Type DualCore Intel Pentium E2140, 1600 MHz (8 x 200)

    CPU Utilization:
    CPU #1 / Core #1 0 %

As yo can see, the Multi CPU item is missing and the CPU Utilization item only shows 1 Core on the HP DX2300.

Both micros are similar, Dual Core, why the Everest can't view the other core??? It's a E2140 problem? Whhat can I do?

    Thanks in advance!
