Can anyone help me...!? It doesn't matter what I delete or move I can see space on my C:\ drive going down before my eyes. I have run spyware and virus software and tune-up utilities and I notice that literally thousands of compressed zip files I don't recognise seem to be constantly downloading to my computer from the net via the network I am on.
I have deleted those folders several times but after a while, the files start appearing again in My Documents and My Shared Folder!!! Can anybody help cos it's really pissing me off and I can't run anything at the moment. |

What programs are you running when these files mysteriously download to your computer? I would check your startup directory. Tune-up Utilities makes this easy for you, just click on tune-up startup manager and disable any entries you don't need. If you have Tune-Up 2006 installed, it will tell you whether the entry is safe to delete or not.
Do you have any firewall software installed? I would recommend you get one if you don't. Try ZoneLab's free ZoneAlarm firewall program. What antivirus and antispy software are you using? Quite frankly, some are better then others! You antivirus software will be worthless if it is not kept up to date. I only recommend people use Avast Antivirus, available at www.avast.com. It detects 99% of virus and best of all its completely FREE (although it does require free registration). As for antispyware, try Lavasoft Ad-Aware. |

I was going to suggest checking for viruses and spyware, but megamaced beat me to it. That's what I'd check first, then go from there if it doesn't work.
