My Computer

Default Core 2 with p5n32 temperature?

I have an asus p5n32 premium with a intel core 2 duo e6600. it was running around 48 degrees celcius and then i did a bios update. when my computer rebooted it says it is running at 60 degrees idle! What happened and should i be worried. also i am not running stock cooling i am running a thermaltake bigwater se kit.

Sounds like they re-calibrated the temp sensor, and while, yeah, that's high, if the waterblock isn't super hot, I wouldn't worry too much. It should have some warmth to it (or there's not very good heat transfer going on), however.

Hi, I had the same board than you, (now I trade for the P5N32E-SLI). But I did a bios update to the last ASUS update (905 or something), and that didn't hapen to me. Try to downgrade de bios to the version that you had before. You can do that with no problems, just install asus update program, go and do update bios from file and put the asus board cd, browse the cd and you find your bios originall file and downgrade to the version that came with board.
