hey, well yeh everyone must agree this game looks amazing and is the main reason im going for an 8800gtx but my question is , when is the actual release date? game.uk.com is saying Released: PREORDER - 14-Sep-2007 and play.com is saying Pre-order | Due for release on 16/11/2007.

could anyone enlighten me? thanks

Better to check on the owners site, it wold be the correct one.

Both dates are correct, Crysis is due for release on the 16th November in the US, but the EU release date is set for 16th September.

But, as always, release dates are subject to change at any time.

The creators could be running behind schedule, or they may stumble across a huge error, meaning they have to re-do an entire part of the game, hence they won't make the deadline for release, so they delay it. It doesn't happen often, but it's something to be aware of, it happened with the release of Spiderman 3, PS3 version was delayed because of a problem in the programming.

It's also what happened to Duke Nukem Forever, it got delayed and delayed until the programmers just gave up and canceled it.

I think this game is way over hyped. Looks good and graphics are great but I do not buy into the Hype. The one game coming out that will live up to the hype is CoD4.

Possibly. However, having played FarCry, Crytek has a lot of expectations from people about Crysis. It's something like the spiritual successor to Far Cry, since it's being published under EA (ugh) instead of Ubisoft. If you haven't played FarCry, I highly recommend picking it up, particularly if you like FPS games. Challenging would be an understatement.
