Default Cursor won't budge on BF2142

Ok, My windows is going down the crapper, and problem after problem start magically appearing. I got a new one today. I played bf2142 for about an hour, went to work, came home and tried to play again and right when I got to the customize your pack screen my cursor just stopped moving.

Everything else works, my keyboard, sound and I can even watch the fight if I would like too. Just the mouse freezes.

I don't have any clue as too what is going on. Any ideas?

thx, help is appreciated.

Have you installed the latest patch for the game?

Yes, in fact I updated it that day. I was playing it for a while, then left for work, then came back, and now it doesnt work. I don't even think that I turned it off!

This can be caused by that latest version. I should say reinstall the game, and see if you still have that issue. If not, then don't install that latest patch.

I completely uninstalled and installed BF2142 twice. The first time I reinstalled the latest patch. The second time I just used the unpatched version.

Both had the same problem. So.... I don't know what this means. Does anyone else?

It could also be caused by an issue with a new driver. if you download a driver, it has (in most cases) a page with known issues.

My Nvida drivers are 9.1.4.7, and my direct x is up to date. I had made no changes other then that patch for the game. But like I said I tried an earlier patch and it still didn't work.

I'm thinking that the patch changed some other setting that BF2142 didn't like. Now I just need to find out how to change it back.

If I'm right, then games from Electronic Arts save their settings into the My Documents folder. If you could locate the settings files (my documents > EA games > Battlefield 2), then maybe you can set everything back to their defaults. Those files have a name like config.cfg, settings.dat, or something ending with .set. That depends on it. Otherwise try to contact EA games about it.
EDIT: There is a newer version of your graphics driver available HERE

You're welcome. I'm not sure if this will solve it, but you might give it a try.

Hmm. well, I did what you suggested but it didn't work. I did find that config folder but I can't find out how to reset its defaults.

You just need to remove the config file, and then restart the game.
