So...i had a bad motherboard...confirmed it by sending it back and the manufacturer telling me so. SO i bought a new one. Here's what i got:
AsRock P4V88 INtel Celeron D 2.4 Rosewill DDR 400, 256mb Asus X-series V9400 i took the ram out and got some beeps... took the vid card out and got some beeps... reinstalled everything but now get no beeps at all. Could this be a bad CPU?? it powers on...all fans running...keyboard lights up...monitor gasses up...just nothing else and the only cables hooked to it are for the keyboard, mouse, and monitor...i'm just trying to get it to POST one more thing...k...i reset the cmos and got it to beep. It beeped repeatedly and fast with a white screen and flashing line like in dos. any idea what this means...the manual does not cover post beeps. it only did this once and i can't get it to do it again THANKS! |

Well usually incompatible RAM doesnt neccesarily make the mobo beep but its possible but it might be worth checking with ASRock.
The ASRock website says the board only supports a 1.5V card so check yours is infact a 1.5V card! Push down FIRMLY but not hard on all expansion cards, cables and RAM to make sure theyre connected properly. If its anything to do with the CPU it might be as simple as chip creep- pull the heatsink off the CPU and double check its inserted properly and make sure you reapply the thermal paste/pad with new stuff! (very thin layer) And it might worth your while to check the net for beep codes or just email ASRock for them!

Check out www.bioscentral.com for the beep codes, it's gotten me out of a few tight spots.
