A few days ago I posted about a dvd drive not being detected. I fixed that by reinstalling my drivers, this time I have a new problem. My dvd will not recgonize any cd or dvd. It simply says "D:\ is not a valid Win32 application."
I'm not very familiar with cd/dvd drivers, any information or help would be appreciated. |

This sounds like an error in the file associations of Windows. Go to Start > Run and enter the following command:
Code:
regsvr32.exe "shell32.dll" |

Thanks for the help. I did what you said and after I entered the command it said
DllRegisterServer in shell32.dll succeeded Then when I rebooted I still had the same problem. |

Yes I can but I cant open anything on the cd or dvd.
What I mean by that is I can't just open the cd and run the exec file or I will just get the same error message telling me that D:\ is not a valid windows operation or w/e. Last edited by Warmonger41; 13-07-2007 at 01:48 AM. |

Also i would suggest that you should check in the Device Manager to see if there is anything in the Yellow exclamatery sign.. (Right Click My Computer > Manage > Device Manager)
