My Computer

Default Dual boot RAID 1

I have an x86 desktop which I still dual boot windows and Linux.

At the moment ive got all my "to keep" files on an 80gb ntfs pata drive but would like to setup a RAID 1.

Will I have any problems caused by dual booting if I get a pci RAID card? Or is a hardware RAID configuration standalone?

I will be using windows 2000 pro and xubuntu 8.04.

Any suggestions on a RAID card will be more than welcome.

A hardware RAID setup is transparent to the operating system, so Linux and Windows in a dual boot setup is fine.

Impotence, I think you may be refering to software RAID. Windows does not support that unless you are running the server versions
