    Default ECDL/ICDL v.4 certification

    hello,
    pardon my poor english..
i'm searching for a study guide or anything that will prepare me for taking the ECDL/ICDL V4 certificate
i know it's nothing comparing to the rest like MCSE & all, but i have to pass this at work! it's Compulsory in the ministry of education for all the staff.

    NOTE:
i work as a computer tech in a sec school.
ECDL: The European Computer Driving License
    ICDL: International Computer Driving License

    thanks for time

The ECDL is a foundation course which covers basic Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2000, 2003 techniques. I learned nothing new on the operating system side but I went away with a few Office 2000 tricks up my sleeve. I think there are 5 exams to sit, one for the OS and one for every Office application such as Word and Excel. Most of the tutoring is done from a CD, although you can go to tutor lead classes if you want to.

From a job perspective the ECDL is useless and unrecognised. I only took the examinations because it was thrown in with my other lessons for A+, N+ and MCSE.

It's currently the 1 IT Qualification in the UK that most NHS Trusts have embraced as the course they want staff to undertake.
