Gamepad problems

Hey!
Name of the device: Manta MM814
I bought this nice-looking PSX-style gamepad - standart 8 direction buttons
and 4 control buttons + 2xR and 2xL buttons; Also 2x analog controllers + several setting buttons. With it came a driver cd. First, plugged in the pad and got windows saying "Unknown device"->"Your hardware is
installed properly and is ready to use". Okay. Installed the drivers, re-plugged the device. nothing happens. lame. next morning, started up my computer and there it goes - USB joystick found. then it installed the device. showed up under game controllers. tried to calibrate, but either no reaction or hang the application(s). Okay - uninstalled and tried to get another driver from the web. from the looks of the installation aplication of the downloaded
driver, it was older than the one that came with the device. Okay, replugged the device, plugged it back in, and got a message that there was a poblem installing this device. Okay, in the device manager it appeared under the USB human interface devices blah,blah with a yellow excl. mark - saying Code 10. Now, I've removed everything and would like to know what I should do - in sequence to maybe get this thing going.

Note: manta is a company from Poland and the user manual and readme is of SUCH bad english and such poor information that reading those two gives a nice nothing.
