My Computer

what motherboard do you have?

If you have integrated graphics on the mobo (which is unlikely, but still possible), or old drivers still existant, then the pc will pick up the old settings.

whats it like for playing games? If you get a display and you dont have integrated graphics then to me that means the card is working.

if it doesnt play games (well) and you still get a display its likely your onboard graphics is still active

Yeah, I reckon it's outdated drivers still in use or the new ones aren't properly installed. Before I updated my drivers it was all choppy and smeary too.

www.nvidia.com

They've got their newest drivers for download. It's always possible you have a courrupted set of drivers.

I bet the last ones I downloaded were courrupted, both the beta and regular versions oddly enough. Either that or I installed them wrong. Is there any special procedure you're supposed to follow when installing drivers?

i've tried new drivers from nvidia and xfx and still no joy, looks like the card must be faulty.
