Default Gneral CPU upgrade

Hello Guys,

New to the forums but intend on sticking around. Im just after a bit of advice really. My rig consists of the following;

CPU - Intel Core2Duo E4600 @ 2.4Ghz
RAM - 6GB
Mobo - Asus P5N-E SLI
Graphcs - 2 X nVidia 8600GT

Basically I would like some advice on the processor side of things and what to update to.

socket 775, Intel q6600 is a good cpu to choose, also an excellent overclocker. I've just checked the cpu support list on your board and it supports it BUT you need bios revision P5N-E SLI BIOS 1404. check your bios see what revision it has.
