Google Goes Black
Well, apparently it was originally just in Israel for support of earth hour, but their homepage is now black as well for us here in the US, so check it our before its gone, its crazy.

yeah, for anyone who doesn't know, the reason behind the black Google is to save energy for all of the people that visit the site each day, and with a black background, it is suppose to use less energy for monitors.

Heh I think it was mostly to raise awareness for Earth Hour. Because it had a tagline that said "we've turned out the lights. Now it's your turn." or something like that.

no, i'm not kidding, there was this blog, and the blogger did a calculation of the power that would be saved if google made their homepage black, but yes, i'm also sure that was a major factor as well.
