    Hello,

I am wondering if these 2 pieces of hardware will get along well. So far I've seen 960's max res is 2048x1536, and display is 2560x1440.

Currently, with another display (22"), I'm using only 1680x1050.

    Thank you

Should be OK as max res for 960 you said is for VGA connector and that monitor does not have VGA connector but only digital ones.

Still I see no reason to buy 144Hz gaming monitor for GTX 960.

Oh, I'm a bit confused right now, so far I know the connectors I use are DVI, and my screen isn't accepting a higher one.
About the 144Hz, well, it's just for future plans as I change the display every ten years or so.

What display would you recommend in case you disagree with the Asus choice?

    Thank you vm

What GTX 960? You should be able to use Displayport/HDMI also.

Unless you want that display for gaming, 144Hz is waste. So you're better off with just "normal" 60/75Hz display. Screen resolution and size is up to you.

I want it for gaming, and got a DP in the 960, which, I can't recall its manufacturer, guess it's Asus but not sure.

You'll need much better card for 144Hz gaming. And because gaming monitor prices fall quite quickly, I suggest you buy "basic" monitor now and "gaming" monitor when you have better video card.

    Although maybe I picked it wrongly, it's a FreeSync display, and I'd need a G-Sync. :/

You probably won't get much out of Gsync with GTX 960 and Freesync generally much cheaper and better supported.
