Default Help Building Gaming Desktop

Hi! I am thinking of buying a desktop for gaming but I am not toooo good with computers. I have some knowledge but not a lot! I have been on a few custom build websites but I am unsure what parts I should buy. I have looked at a few sites but I found Vadim a bit too pricey and pcspecialist ok but unsure of the quality. I have about £700-£800 to spend and would like a dual or quad core, preferably 4 gigs of RAM and a decent gfx card(s) if possible! Any suggestions on parts/websites? Like I said, I put together a decent enough rig on pcspecialist with quad core, 4 gig RAM, 1 gig gfx etc but due to my inexperience, I thought I would find some help first!! Thanks a lot!!! Ben

My Computer

Welcome to the Forums

I have come up with a possible set up for you:

CPU: New Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 LGA775 'Yorkfield' 2.50GHz 6MB

CPU Cooler: Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775)

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

Memory: G.Skill 4GB DDR2 PQ PC2-6400C5 (2x2GB)

Graphics Card: BFG GeForce 9800 GTX 512MB GDDR3

Hard Drive: Maxtor Diamondmax 22 500GB SATA-II 32MB Cache

Power Supply: Coolermaster eXtreme Power 650W PSU

Optical Drive: LG GH20NS10 20x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black)

Case: Thermaltake VC3000BWS Armour Jr SuperMidi Tower

Operating System: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 32-Bit Edition DVD - OEM

Grand Total: £830

Slightly over budget but i you have a 9800GTX one of the best graphics cards out there it's just been released in UK and it's brand new gen card, it will eat any game for breakfast
