Question ibm mini pci wifi

grettings,
I have an I-Fiend laptop running xp, when replacing the memory modules, I had noticed a mini pci slot. So I bought a IBM item then discovered that it was not compatable, can anyone help with the DOS link to enable the wifi or another way around the problem so i can get rid of the usb wifi device.
