My Computer

Default iPod Mini....

.....ok, I'm getting one of these as soon as they are available in the UK. Anyway, I don't have a Firewire or USB2.0 port. Given that I don't care about waiting for the songs to write etc, will the iPod work with a standard USB Port. I'm asking because I know it has already been relased in the states, and hopefully some one here will have one.

Thanks.

Okay thanks. I have read that it does work with USB in a user review at amazon.co.uk, bu I'd prefer a second opinion.

Thanks.

USB 2.0 is backwards compatible with USB 1.0/1.1/1.2, it just won't transfer as fast to those devices (1/33 as fast).

According to Asus, the P4C800-E Deluxe has both USB 2.0 and Firewire (IEEE1394) on that board. You should have USB 2.0 at the very least, since it's supported by ICH5/ICH5R. You may need to make sure it's enabled in BIOS, however. Check your manual.

have you considered the Creative MuVo² 4GB MP3? I like the look of it alot, now if only I had the money, I would get once, it looks smaller than the ipod mini, I think! but not too sure!

do remember to post pics if you can!
