Default K3b problems - WTF???

Weird one.... not sure what the hell is going on....
I have K3b installed and it will burn ISO's, erase CD-RW and even copy CD's - no problem.

My Problem is creating an audio CD. Conversion work but CD will not be written.
I tried to create an image, so K3b converts the files to wma and that's that!!!
No image is actually created. When I try to create the CD, K3b goes through the motions, and it looks like the CD is written (CD drive LED is flashing) but after the CD is ejected at the end of the process, I try to play the CD and it is empty!!! WTF???

Had a look at the settings but I cannot see anything obvious (well, that does not mean anything.... ).
I am sure I have not checked the 'Simulate' box.

So, what am I not doing? HELP!

I don't understand what you mean by that part. Converts to WMA?

That sounds like it could be a problem with the burner itself, but I'd still be interested to see the /var/log/debug and /var/log/messages timestamps around the time you burned that disc. Also, does anything relevant show up in the K3b logs at all?

There is a conversion part of the overall process which creates files of WAV format.
So sorry for the confusion.... ....
Unfortunately, the files do not get written to the CD or the image file.....

Tried to open the mentioned files but they seem empty....
Where will I find the K3b log files?

Ahh, I see what you meant. Yeah, it converts them to raw audio files before burning them so they're compatible with the red book audio standard.

By default, those files are not readable by unprivileged users for security reasons. Have you tried as root?

Usually it just logs everything right in front of you as it's burning.

My Computer

When trying to burn a cd the messages are fine and in the end K3b says that the disk was written successfully.
When trying to create an image all I get is a message to say that the tracks were converted successfully.

I had a look into the files with VIM but there is so much stuff in the filers that I am not sure what I am looking for.
