KDE4 released
The new major version of KDE4 has been released today. It's been many years since the release of KDE3 and now we have a brand new KDE.
KDE4 now uses the Qt4 library toolkit which is better in many ways to Qt3. Not all applications are finished, e.g. Amarok but they're on their way. The core of the KDE3 system is complete with applications like Kate, Konsole, Dolphin, Konqueror etc fully working. A new big desktop thing is Plasma, which allows users to add widgets and functionality to their desktop via plasmoids. KDE
