My Computer

Default laptop cant hold charge

hey im trying to fix my laptop and heres the problem:
I have to hold the chord just right to say its charging, and i got it to say it was fully charged, then i started it and it only lasted to the log in screen then it turned off.

So what im trying to figure out is if i need a new battery, new charger port, or new power cord. and if any sottering will be required to fix the charge port, any ideas? or things that might help me figure out my problem? thanks

-Luke

Probably a faulty battery, if it's old then even more likely. You're not going to be able to save it in all honesty, so better off just buying a new one.

If you have to hold the cord in order for it to charge , then I would say it is probably the power supply and the battery...

man, I had the same problem, but if you are having problems with the laptop battery that means that it's quite old, so I really think that you sould buy a new laptop, batteries are quite expensive, and a good laptop is aboat 400 to 600 euros and replacing the battry will be about 100 euros, so just take it from me buy a new one, or just try to find a second hand battery don't buy a new one...
