Default Microphone Problem

Right another microphone problem, now my mic works and nothing is muted, i can record voice clips via msn and send them to people fine, but i cant use anything like teamspeak, or start up a voice chat on msn, i cant even test my microphone it just dosent pick up any sound....... any ideas?

i know you've checked your mute settings, but check them when you're NOT using msn, it might be that msn changes the volume settings when you load it, then puts it back to mute (or lower volume) when you exit.

also, check your settings in the programs, if msn can pick up your mic then so should all the other programs unless there is a problem in the settings.

if your using XP go into your volume panel (the gray speaker icon) and click properties, then click on the Recording button, then click OK. check there for muted things and make sure the default tick is on the mic...

also, your mic should be in the pink port at the back, not the blue or green one unless you have a program that changes them round (like realtek)
