Question Monitors - PLEASE HELP, PLEASE!

Hi all... I am currently looking to upgrade my 19" CRT monitor to a 19" TFT/LCD monitor but I am really confused as which one to get. I kind of know the sort of things I should be looking for, however, I am stuck between choice with these following monitors:

Set 1: Komplett.co.uk

Set 2: Komplett.co.uk

Could you all please advise me on which one to purchase from the ones I have shown - or if anyone knows any better ones to tell me them???

I would very much appreciate all the help I could get and am looking forward to peoples advice.

Thank you all very much for any help received

well first what are you using the monitor for and do you have a budget.
Well if your set on a 19 inch, i would wait a couple days until the LG on the end of the first link, thats silver comes back in stock and get that one. Its the best out of all of them, stats wise

I agree with what Swansen said. Additionally, I would highly suggest going to a brick and mortar shop and checking any display your considering out. Some people may really like a display, but you may find it to be unsuitable for your needs.

Typically, Samsung has pretty good products. Also, I've heard very good things about Dell LCD's, so those would be worth checking out if all the raves I've heard about are true.

yeah what big b said is true. Dell and Samsung do seem to make really nice units, but performance wise that LG is rreeaallly nice.

(In relation to what swansen and big b said): I am going to be using my monitor for media purposes etc and gaming most of all, so that's really my main use. my budget is any were up to £230-ish.
It seems that out of the monitor listings I provided you both recommend the LG monitor above all. Thats cool. i thought something similar but wasnt sure so its good to get clarification. So just to verify you recomend this LG: Komplett.co.uk - LG 19" LCD L1970HR-BF Monitor, 2000:1, 2ms, Tilt & Folding, Ultra Slim, Silver

Btw I'll check out some dell units but other than that is it safe to say for my needs that the best buy for me is the above LG???

thnx for all the help so far

yeahs thats the unit, well about the dell and Samsung, they make good units all around but they have a few that excell. Like Dell has this 30 or so inch wide screen which is realllllyyyy nice, and samsung just have good quality for the price. Samsung makes cheap but good quality smaller widescreen displays. But anyways about the LG, i like Viewsonic, a lot, they make really nice displays as well, but if i had found that display i would have choose it over my current monitor if that makes you feel better. LG's pretty cool to so you should make out pretty good with this one.

Hey will you please tell me how it works out for u once u get it and test it out? Especially look for top and bottom of the monitor having the same color shades. It's a common flaw with LCDs that the top is darker than the bottom. Set your desktop background to just a plain color like green or something, and see if it looks the same shade everywhere. Also look for ghosting in animations/games. But I'm mostly interested in the color accuracy thing.

I'm rather displeased with my own new 19" LCD and am really interested in how other models work for other people. (According to like 200+ reviews, my monitor is supposed to be simply stellar but the particular one i got definitely is not... so go figure) So I would greatly appreciate it if u posted back with results. Thanks.

I'm sorry to hear that you've had such a problem, its unfortunate when PC goods and peripherals don't meet standards. however, the monitor I am getting (link above somewhere lol) comes highly recommended from a lot of people I have asked, and the price is great too fingers crossed/touch wood that it's in great condition and works perfectly

I'll post up some results for you in the next week or so when my monitor has arrived and I have tested it.

Btw - here is the link to the monitor I am getting Komplett.co.uk - LG 19" LCD L1970HR-BF Monitor, 2000:1, 2ms, Tilt & Folding, Ultra Slim, Silver

Resonance, you still need to do your review!! Did you think I have forgotten? Lol just tell me if the top of the screen shows darker colors than the bottom or if color looks the same everywhere, that's basically all I wanna know. Pwease pwease pwease. Will take ya like 30 seconds heh.
