I recently just built a new computer
Parts in the computer: Asus M2N-E SLI Motherboard AMD Athlon X2 AM2 4800+ 8600GT 512MB 1GB Samsung ram 250gb WD SATA hard drive Antec 480 Watt So heres the problem, when i boot my computer (power supply is fine), everything is powered up (hard drive spins, graphics card fan spins) but the CPU fan only spins for 3 seconds then stops. There is no output onto my monitor (so i cant get into the bios, and yes the monitor works fine). There are no beeps from the PC speaker (yes i have connected it) and yeah i am having some trouble figuring out what the problem is. Though i have a rough idea on what may the problem: CPU is dead? Motherboard is shorting or dead? (recently just got it replaced, so this shouldnt be the problem) or graphics card is dead? or psu isnt good enough? need some help desperately, thanks in advance |

Well, one thing you can do to make sure whether it is the Motherboard or CPU is to take out the CPU and power the system up. If it should definetly beep. But before doing that you should really look into some other things.
But let us know what you try and let us know what results you get. Good luck. -Fred |
