Motherboard or CPU dead?

I recently just built a new computer

Parts in the computer:
Asus M2N-E SLI Motherboard
AMD Athlon X2 AM2 4800+
8600GT 512MB
1GB Samsung ram
250gb WD SATA hard drive
Antec 480 Watt

So heres the problem, when i boot my computer (power supply is fine), everything is powered up (hard drive spins, graphics card fan spins) but the CPU fan only spins for 3 seconds then stops. There is no output onto my monitor (so i cant get into the bios, and yes the monitor works fine). There are no beeps from the PC speaker (yes i have connected it) and yeah i am having some trouble figuring out what the problem is.

Though i have a rough idea on what may the problem: CPU is dead? Motherboard is shorting or dead? (recently just got it replaced, so this shouldnt be the problem) or graphics card is dead? or psu isnt good enough?

need some help desperately, thanks in advance

Well, one thing you can do to make sure whether it is the Motherboard or CPU is to take out the CPU and power the system up. If it should definetly beep. But before doing that you should really look into some other things.

Boot the system with as little connected as possible. Something like: video card, RAM, CPU. See if you get some output.
You can also try part swapping. If you have another working computer that takes the same parts you can switch them out on the other computer and see if the other computer still boots (or visa versa)
Are you positive that the PSU is working fine and is the correct power for your system? Even if it is brand new and high enough voltage, it is possible for it to be bad out of the box. In this case, you may want to look into swapping it with a known working psu just to check
You may also want to take the sticks of RAM down the the point where you only have one stick in there, just to be sure.

Now, obviously, these are all just things to try so you have some ideas and some may not help at all. But for the record, last time that type of thing happened to me, it was the cpu. (Actually, the power supply fried the motherboard AND cpu )
