I committed the ultimate sin... I bought a comp from Dell about 8 months ago... I know I know, but I was dumb back then. Anyways, I want to upgrade to 1gb of RAM, but I dont know how to tell which RAM is compatible with the mb. I looked at the specs for the comp and I know it can hold 1gb of RAM. The RAM in it right now is 512mb pc2100. I want to upgrade to 1gb pc4000-4200. I was wondering if yhall could help me figure out if my mb could handle that speed.
The mb in it right now is: Intel 845GL DMA channels: seven Interrupt levels: 24APIC mode System BIOC chip: 2Mb (256kb) System clock: 400mhz data rate I dont know what most of that means (besides the system clock). Please help me figure out what kind of RAM it can support. Thanks. |
