Default My brother wants a new custom build PC

Please help me out with this. I use AMD but he wants Intel (he always had problems with AMD in the past) so i don't know the field when it comes to Intels.

The budget is about 2000 euros.

Taking a quick glance through the CPU's i was thinking of something along the line of Core 2 Duo E6700. Is this a good processor?
(i don't think he wants to pay 900 euros for Core 2 Extreme X6800EE)

Core 2 Duo E6700
DFI LANPARTY UT ICFX3200-T2R/G (or should i get an Nforce build motherboard?)
1x Asus EN8800GTX (hence my nforce question)
Enermax Infiniti 720W
X-Fi Soundcard

RAM? (what type of RAM should i get? thinking of somewhere between 2GB and 3 GB)

Is this a good build?

If not (or if you are thinking different) please offer me different suggestions.

Ah yes, my brother said he wants it to be high-end so that's why went with this build. Just that i personally consider SLI/Crossfire to be overkill at the moment.

My Computer

Well he is right in wanting a Core 2 Duo CPU because at the moment they blow away anything amd has to offer. Just ballance any C2D CPu with the rest of your system and youll be fine

Youd probably be serves better by an nVidia mobo somewhere along the lines of an Asus P5W-DH Deluxe. Its cheaper and it will be obviously compatible with an nvidia card.

The Gfx card is awsome and i agree that sli gtx' is stupid (let alone expensive)

PSU is fine

Sound is fine

For the ram. What you want is a 2gb of good quality ram from a reputable brand like Corsair, OCZ, gskill, crucial, kingstone.... there are many good companies out there. You want DDR2 and if you can afford it 800mhz if not 667 does the job.

Thats a very high end build and im sure there wont be a game that will stand up to that monster right now. Good luck

Aye, thanks for the reply. This is the latest i came up with and i think it is pretty much going near the final build

So the build atm is:

Core 2 Duo E6700 or Core 2 Duo E6600
P5B Deluxe (possibly the WIFI version)
1x Asus EN8800GTX (he won't probably go into SLI. in 2 years most likely he will do a fully new build)
Enermax Infiniti 720W
X-Fi Soundcard
Corsair WIN2X2048-6400C4
Arctic Freezer 7 Pro or Thermaltake Blue Orb II (personally i have the Blue Orb in my Athlon FX 57 and the cooler never goes over around 40% of it's speed capacity even during games. the speed is set automatically on my dfi board) + Artic Silver 5
2x Raptor WD1500ADFD or ST3320620AS possible 2x (need to check with my brother if he wants high speed or extra space he already has two external HDD's)
Some Asus DVD writer

Am i missing anything else?

Monitor: I have a Viewsonic VP930 monitor and i am extremely pleased with it. He said he wants a 20' monitor but only if it is something equal or better than the VP930 in performance. If not he said he wants the 19'.

Notes:
- 6600 for better price/performance. got it
- better to get the WIFI version?
- Freezer 7 or Blue Orb?

Am i missing out on anything else a computer needs? (for the case he wants bigtower and i was thinking of picking up a Lian Li case as i have been extremely impressed by the midtower i got from them)
