Hello everyone!
I opened a Buy It Now or Best Offer auction type on eBay for a relatively new laptop. It's an ABS Mayhem Z2. with the following specs: * 2.0 GHz Intel Core Duo processor * 1 GB system RAM (memory) * 256 MB video RAM * 100 GB hard drive * Built-in multi-card reader (MMC/MS/SD) * Built-in 1.3 megapixel webcam * Windows XP Professional (Vista capable! I've tried and it runs fine, I just can't give you my copy of Vista as that would be illegal) * Includes restore DVD * VGA and S-Video output * Four USB 2.0 ports (two on the back, two on the right side) * One IEEE 1394 port * Wireless capabilities * DVD/CD-RW drive (reads, writes, and re-writes both CDs and DVDs) * 56k modem and RJ-45 (ethernet) connectors * Battery (holds about 2 hours on half screen brightness) * AC adapter included The problem is, it's missing the 'H' key, and the LCD<->unit cable is a bit loose, as sometimes the screen replaces pixels with a certain shade of white with pink/magenta. You have to move the screen around a bit to fix it, and it's not too frequent. I'd say it happens about once a day. I'm selling it for $600, which is less than half the price I bought it for back in late 2006. An eBay user made an offer of $250. So my question is, should I accept the offer, or am I trying to be ripped off? Is the laptop that messed up? Look at the auction here: Used ABS Mayhem Z2 gaming laptop (QUALITY brand!!) - eBay (item 150201189527 end time Jan-07-08 12:09:38 PST) I know computers degrade in price rapidly, and the screen problem and the missing key can be a bit of an annoyance, but selling it for less than a fifth of the original price? Thanks in advance! |

Well to be honest with you, it lists the computer as a "gaming laptop" but i dont see anywhere what type of onboard gpu there is. Most laptops aren't that great for gaming anyways. Another thing is, you can find a brand new laptop at places like Best Buy for a similar cost. I recently purchased a Sony laptop (intel core 2, 1 gig ddr2, intel graphics) for about $500.
So I guess what I'm saying is it would have to have a pretty decent graphics card in that thing to make it worth it. |

So based on what Fred is saying, you should probably sell it for 250, I guess. If I was buying a laptop, I would think the screen thing is a pretty big problem, honestly.
