Default My E6600 at 60*c idle help!

I applied A5 paste and still at 60*c at idle. i ordered a new heatsink

i still havent installed it but do you guys have any other suggestions as well?

60*c? that's some heat there!

I'd certainly do something like [1] reset the CMOS (just in case some old BIOS settings are causing trouble) [2]remove the heatsink [3] clean the heatsink and the CPU from the paste [4] remove and reinstall the CPU [5] apply heat-paste (maybe try some other paste) very carefully (since too much paste, as we all know, *might* work as a heat-shield rather than a heat transporter).

but man, 60*c .. jeez

yep do what he says... BTW Intel's default heatsinks are (usually) crap... get a good one like an arctic.
