My first sig attempt!

I've been meaning to do this for a while. It's my first foray into Gimp so it still looks pretty crap but you can probably see what I'm trying to do. Suggestions welcome!

Version 2 - looks better but I can't figure out a good way to add the eyes.

I like number 2 best. I would put the eyes coming out from behind the mountain!!

Add evil demonic eyes and and put a tiny tag barely visible saying "MICROSOFT".

Wow, that's a load of penguins! Very nice job mate

I prefer the bottom one and like Addis' idea

My only nit pick is the background is a little grainy and low rez, if you reduced the quality I'd suggest taping it up a bit but it's a very minor prob.

I'm not too concerned with the background right now as I want to change it. The effect I'm trying to create is that of marching penguins at the moment they're still sort of floating. Think 10,000 orcs marching on Helm's Deep and you'll get the kind of thing I'm trying to do. I reckon if the background was a valley of some kind with the penguins vanishing off into the distance then that would look better though at the moment I'm still trying to figure out how Gimp works.

Actually I'm wondering how it would look if the penguins were carrying swords, spears, pikes etc!

That would create a very powerful, and humorous image, but good luck finding a pic like that.
