Default My Monitor

Its a 4-year old Norwood Micro LCD (16-18 inches) and it keeps having shimmering waves that drive my eyes crazy and is making me blind. I definitely cant afford another monitor but I need to use this one. How do I fix the shimmering crappiness?

I got it to 60 GhZ in my settings because when it was at 75... it shimmered like crazy.

This was a gradual thing I guess... but is there any way to fix it?

LCD's generally work best at 60Hz. This doesn't work with the traditional CRT as the resolution increases because of the technology.

What you should find is what the optimal resolution for the monitor is and try that.

I've tried all the resolutions... ranging from smallest to biggest... and the problem still occurs

But.. what's really strange is now I've noticed that only patches of my moniter are fuzzy and shimmering. Some places are just fine.. while parts of my upper left and middle screen are shimmering the most.

At the moment.. I'm using the fullest the monitor can give me.. 1280x1024

Edit: Sometimes when it's really bad... I mash the Auto Adjust and the power buttons until some of the fuzziness goes away. I once got it perfect for a week when I hit auto adjust right after my monitor turned back on.

Too bad none of that works anymore

I only have this computer. The cables seem fine, and although I have an ATI Radeon 9200, it seems to run just fine. It shimmers in patches and it always gives me trouble for atleast 15 minutes of configuring and messing around with power, auto adjust, and 60/70/75 Hz.
