Default My pc is crashing! Help!

I've got got this problem with my pc and im not sure whats causing it. I first found the problem when i was playing oblivion and my pc suddenly shut down. My pc crashes about every 2 hours when using it. Here's my hardware:
Motherboard: MSI K9N SLI-2f
Graphics card: Asus 7600GT
Memory: Some sort of kingston hyper x memory
CPU: AMD athlon 64 4200+ X2
HDD: Maxtor DiamondMax 300Gb
PSU:420w but i don't know what make it is

I put everything there because i have no idea whats causing the problem. My motherboard heatsink does overheat but my pc only crashes when running oblivion or when im on the desktop running some light application like mozilla so im dont think thats the problem. When running bf2 for example my computer does not crash. I have updated my bios and i have the latest drivers but none of them have helped. I was hoping you guys could help me. Thx in advance.

Try to get the details of your PSU, this might be a PSU problem.

As soon as i seen the title, i thought PSU problem!, it could possibly be aswell, you need a decent PSU, you've got a preety awsome rig there i must say, and you need a decent PSU, its nto the WATTS that you should look at, its the +12v rails, a good PSU with dual +12v rails from a good make like Antec, enermax, hiper or ocz will do you good.

Cheapo PSU's are often the cause of pc's shutting down and crashes, its very common to get problems on the forum that may well be PSU problems, infact this is the 3rd thread today which appears to be a problem related to PSU's

I reccommend taking a look at the power supply sticky by Big B, you should be able to find some helpfull info on this page

Thanks for your answers. I found my psu manual found out that its a HEC powermaster(somesort of a german brand). I found a way to force my computer crash: running bf1942 with 64 bots. My computer shuts down after the map has loaded and i have spawned. Also i noticed that my computers power led started flashing and i couldn't start my computer again while the leds were flashing. The only way i could make them stop flashing was pulling the plug out. Im not going to buy a new psu until i know what that led mean.

I think Oblivion must have more hardware requirements than bf2.(I am assuming because I m not much into gamings) More hardware requirements means more usage of hardware and more usage means more temp. risings. Due to this your system Shutsdown itself when reaching on very high tempratures...Its just a feature in your OS which you can turn off but not recommended coz you might end up with a dead pc after that...
Restart your computer and look at the temprature status in your BIOS when this thing happen next time. Paste the readings here.....
Also tell us which coolant device you are using in your system...

I found many errors but most of them had something to do with my wlan card losing connection. I think this one has something to do with the crashing:

AdjustCoreTSC()
Node[ 0 ] Core[ 0 ] Cpu[ 0 ] Affinity[ 0x1 ]
Error: HalGetBusDataByOffset() failed reading north-bridge TSC.

So i guess its my northbridge that stops responding when it overheats. It's cooled by a small heatsink that is located right under the primary peglink. I dont have any fans near it except for the small one on the gpu so it doesn't get a lot of cool air. It's very strange that my pc only shuts down when running oblivion or bf1942 with 64 bots(it very rarely crashes when im on the desktop). I think im going to have to buy a new motherboard or some cooling device. Thanks for helping me!
