My Computer

Welcome to the forums

Well, clock speed for the CPU is not the most important thing but can benefit some video cards.

I think your going to have to upp your budget, Its going to be very very difficult to buy even a decent stuff for $350 and 512mb really is not enough, 1gb - 2gb ram is really what your gonna need.

Woah, infact $350 is deffenitly enough, thats like £175, for this your going to struggle with just buying a good graphics card, your budget for the CPU and Motherboard along would proberbly need to be more like £350

I would normally reccomend an 8800GTS for future upgradability, but there around £230 and the 320mb version is around £170.

Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.86GHz (1066FSB) - Retail < Good overclocker, but £117 on its own, it is a good CPU though.

Save up, for a decent rig for gaming your gonna need around £800 tbh.

What games are you looking to play?

Also, you're saying dollars, but your flag is for the UK.

This card may be able to play BF2142 on high @ 1024x768, but it would not be reccommended for future upgradability and the fact it will struggle on new games coming out, but it does indeed depend on what games he is playing, if he is playing Oblivion, then an X1300pro wouldent be good unless he is willing to play at a low res and no AA/AF.

I suppose he is saying dollars because allot of people on this site as from the US, but even a decent upgrade $350 just wont cut it.
