Default Need of Help with Firefox

My browsers play some audio, but not all of it. for example, Runescape, from jagex, is as clear as a whistle, but embedded audio and audio from embedded video isn't even detectable. Need help!

If it helps with determining the problem, I can even hear audio from files opened with my browsers. It's just stuff embedded on websites...

HELP PLEASE!

My Computer

What type of plugins are you using? Flash movie plugin or actual Windows media plugin?

whatever comes with preinstalled on firefox 2.0. I also had the same problem with the previous incarnations of firefox 1.5 version, so i'm not sure. A friend said it might be a virus, but nothing I have on my PC has found it yet, though it is free software...

Youtube and GoogleVid do not work, either.
